Big Break Vocal Competition Event Review!

Big Break Vocal Competition!

August 1, 2016 I was invited to come out to a vocal competition on the North side of Chicago by Tim Jackson a friend and peer in the live music Chicago scene.

Bar1 Events and Budweiser present the 12th Annual Bar1’s Big Break Vocal competition. It is a vocal competition that Tim and his partner Hannah, who competed together in the duet phase of the 11-week, winner-take-all singing competition.

This winners will walk away with a Grand Prize of $10,000!

Here were the best two performances for me that evening!

My buddy Tim Jackson & Hannah covered “Old Time Rock and Roll” sang by Bob Seger!

Devonte & China Love… They covered “The Prayer” sang by Donnie McClurkin & Yolonda Adams. They sang too! Yes they did…

After the performances the contestants are critiqued by 3 judges and the audience take an individual written ballot vote.  Round 7 resumes Monday August 8, 2016 at 7pm. You have to be present to vote!

The event is held at McGee’s Tavern, 950 W. Webster, Chicago IL. There is no cover but I do recommend going early or car pooling. The parking sucked!

I had a great time and enjoyed the positive energy in the atmosphere of friendly competition!
